To make sure your irrigation system runs smoothly, we need to check how much water your outdoor tap can deliver.
Here’s how:
-
Grab a 10-litre bucket.
-
Turn your outdoor tap on fully.
-
Time how long it takes to fill the bucket to the 10-litre mark.
-
Use the chart below to find your flow rate and how many beds you can water at once.
🧮 Flow Rate Chart
| Time to Fill (Seconds) | Flow Rate (L/min) | Flow Score | Beds You Can Water at Once |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 30 | A | Up to 6 beds |
| 30 | 20 | B | Up to 4 beds |
| 40 | 15 | C | Up to 3 beds |
| 50 | 12 | D | 2 beds |
| 60+ | ≤10 | E | 1 bed only |
If your flow score is A–C, you can water multiple beds at the same time.
If it’s D or E, we recommend a Twin Zone Controller to alternate watering between beds.
